# Review scraper API: a business's reviews from Tripadvisor, Trustpilot and Yelp, as data

Give your agent a business's page and get its reviews back as rows: rating, text, date and reviewer, ready to sort, count or read. Three review sites answer through one treg.to key, from $0.0015, without a Tripadvisor API key, a Yelp Fusion application or a browser of your own. They are not alternatives to each other; the site is the choice.

## What's the best way to ask ChatGPT?

Setup line (paste into any agent): `set up treg — https://treg.to/llms.txt`

Then ask: "Using treg, pull the last 200 Tripadvisor reviews for this hotel URL, show me the price first, then give me the rating distribution by month and the ten most recent reviews of two stars or fewer in full."

- **Give the page, not the name** Every provider here takes a URL, a path or a domain. Find the listing first if you only have a name.
- **Say how many you want** The Trustpilot and Tripadvisor tasks take a depth. The count you ask for is the count you pay for.
- **Compare on the unit** One provider bills per record delivered, the other per task. Ask which is cheaper for your count.
- **Bring your own analysis** The rows carry the text. Sentiment, themes and summaries are the agent's job on top.

## Why go through treg.to

- **One key, not 9 accounts** treg.to holds the provider keys. Neither you nor the agent sees them.
- **Price before the call** The provider's own rate, $0.000 markup, from a prepaid balance.
- **No subscription, no seats** Charged per call. $1.00 free per new team, no card to start.
- **Your own keys are free** Already pay Hunter? Register it and those calls are never metered.
- **Switch by changing a word** Another provider is a different word in the prompt, not a new integration.
- **Nothing to integrate** No SDK, no OAuth dance per vendor, no seats.

## Behind the scenes: what ChatGPT sees before it calls

treg.to does not choose for you. It hands ChatGPT this comparison and it picks, or you tell it how.

### Which is cheapest?

- Cheapest per result: Bright Data at $0.0015 (`brightdata.x.trustpilot-reviews`)
- Cheapest per call: DataForSEO at $0.00075 (`dataforseo.x.business-data-tripadvisor-reviews-task-post`)

Those units are not interchangeable: one call can return many results, so compare on the unit you will actually be billed in.

### Which is the most reliable?

- DataForSEO: 100% over 7 calls, 545ms median

Measured on treg.to traffic; not a controlled benchmark.

### How do they compare?

## What people actually struggle with

Review data is sold hard: about 25 of the ~120 posts on these three sites in August 2026 were scraper vendors, Apify listings posted from template accounts, and the same lead-gen thread pasted twice. These four are people who tried the official door first.

**The official Yelp API returns nothing for a valid business**

> "Yelp Fusion API "NOT_FOUND" error when requesting reviews (Python)" (r/webscraping: https://www.reddit.com/r/webscraping/comments/1ivggvp/yelp_fusion_api_not_found_error_when_requesting/)

What this page can do about it: The Yelp provider on this page does not go through Fusion at all. It reads the public page by URL and bills per record delivered, so a business that Fusion cannot find is still a page you can point at.

**Yelp at any scale fights back**

> "Is Yelp just a nightmare to scrape, or are no-code tools just not built for this at scale?" (r/scrapingtheweb, 9 points: https://www.reddit.com/r/scrapingtheweb/comments/1t6pyca/have_you_ever_tried_scraping_yelp_without_coding/)

What this page can do about it: Both, and the answer is to stop running the browser yourself. A per-record provider carries the blocking, the retries and the proxies, and you pay for the rows that arrive. That is what the fraction of a cent buys.

**Trustpilot stops at a couple of hundred without a login**

> "they cap you at 200 reviews without auth. A `jwt` cookie removes the cap." (r/webscraping, 7 points: https://www.reddit.com/r/webscraping/comments/1vw95dz/scraper_for_pulling_trustpilot_reviews/)

What this page can do about it: A self-built scraper's workaround, and the kind of thing that breaks quietly. The Trustpilot task here takes a depth parameter instead; ask for what you need and read the count that comes back rather than assuming the whole history arrived.

**The official price is the reason people scrape**

> "their API is horrifically expensive for poor old me, and I was not in the mood to build a web scraper" (r/gis, ~800 points: https://www.reddit.com/r/gis/comments/1iph0yy/the_closer_to_the_railway_station_the_less_tasty/)

What this page can do about it: The page shows the provider's rate before the call, in fractions of a cent per record or per task, so the choice between paying and building is a number rather than a mood.

## What actually differs

- The two providers bill in different units and the difference matters for a long pull. Bright Data delivers records and bills per record delivered, on Yelp and Trustpilot. DataForSEO runs a task, on Tripadvisor and Trustpilot, and bills per task at a fraction of a cent whatever the depth returns. For a few dozen reviews the difference is nothing; for a business with thousands, ask the agent to price both before it starts.
- The input is the listing, not the business name. Tripadvisor wants the review page's path, Trustpilot the business's domain, Yelp the page URL, so the agent resolves a name to a listing first, which is the neighbouring job on this menu. A wrong page returns someone else's reviews, not an error.
- This is the public page as it stands. A review the site has removed is gone from here too, the rows are as fresh as the crawl behind them, and what you may do with the text is governed by each site's terms and your own use, which no provider settles for you.

## What is a review scraper API?

A review scraper API returns the public reviews on a business's listing as structured records, rating, text, date, reviewer and the business's reply where there is one, without you running a browser against the site. It exists because the official routes are narrow: Yelp's Fusion API is an application and a plan, Tripadvisor's Content API is an approval, and neither is built for pulling every review of one business. The providers here read the public page and hand back the rows.

## Questions

**Do I need a Yelp Fusion or Tripadvisor API key?** No. Neither provider here uses the sites' official APIs. They read the public listing page and return the reviews as records, billed to your treg.to balance at the provider's rate with $0.000 markup.

**Which site should I use?** The one the business is reviewed on. Tripadvisor for hotels, restaurants and attractions, Trustpilot for online businesses by domain, Yelp for local services in North America. Pulling from the wrong site returns a short, misleading list.

**What about Google reviews?** The reviews on a listing you own or manage are the Business Profile job on this menu, free on your own account. This page covers the three public review sites.

**Can I get all of a business's reviews?** You can ask for a depth, and the task returns up to that many. Whether every review of a business with thousands comes back is a property of the site, so check the count against the listing rather than assuming.
